A word About Run Groups
This is our first year for championship points, as we are a new club, and average event entry has been running about 20-25 cars we run ALL groups in the AM session. PM session is run mostly as Time Only.
If you cannot make the morning session, but want to run the afternoon for points, that is OK, however if track conditions have changed to your advantage (dried out or whatever) competitors in your class may elect to protest your finish position, in that case you would be awarded last place points for that event (if there were 3 cars in class you would be third).
AM sessions; set up is done by 8 AM Registration closes @ 9:30 tech runs till about 9:45AM drivers meeting @ 9:45. You must be at the drivers meeting ready to run. First car out 10 AM first session usually runs till about 1 PM
For the Ocean Run Event we award class trophies, as we have an event cap of 60 cars for the Down Town Seaside lot Pre-Registration is strongly advised.
Basically right now, the Ocean Run being the exception, we all run AM, then re register and run T/O in the PM session, this allows late comers a chance to run, and maximizes seat time for every one else. You can usually get 10+ runs in a day if you run both sessions.
PM registration is lunchtime, from 12:30 to 1:30PM this may slide a bit later depending on turnout / etc as we dont have extra people to run registration and tech, and work course, timing, etc.
As we grow you can expect our format to become more rigid and structured, but overall we just want to have fun, run hard, stay safe, and get lots of seat time.
This club is what Autocrossing and Gymkhana was in the early days, a bunch of sports car nuts going out to have a good time, we dont want to change that too much. We like to race, and race each other, but we are all friends and neighbors, lets not get too serious and take the fun out of it. Some times things go a little slower than you expect at say an SCCA PRO SOLO, but we concentrate on safety and fun, feel free to jump in and help out, volunteer to help where you see a need. Our goal is to keep prices low and fun high and every hand helps.
